Effect of Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera) Fruits Consumption on Birth Delivery Outcome: Meta-Analysis

Background: The choice of cesarean section continues to increase in the world and is expected continue over coming decades, which almost a third all deliveries 2030. benefits dates for improving labor processes are considered vaginal also reduce frequency sections with aim reducing bigger complications. This study aims analyze estimate influence consumption on outcomes. Subjects Method: systematic review meta-analysis PICO, P: Pregnant women, I: dates, C: No O: Bishop's score, length labor, postpartum hemorrhage. Data collection was obtained from databases, namely: PubMed, Science Direct, Springer Link, Google Scholar. Keywords used “date fruit” OR palm” “phoenix dactylifera” AND “labor” “delivery”, “oxytocin” “hemorrhage”. inclusion criteria were full papers English design randomized controlled trials 20002022. analyzed using RevMan 5.3 software. Results: Meta-analysis conducted 4 primary studies several countries such as Iran, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia sample size 603 pregnant women. concluded that there an effect date cervical dilatation upon admission hospital (SMD= 0.73; CI 95%= 0.09 1.38; p=0.030). Consumption has duration active 1st stage 0.46; 0.82 0.09; p= 0.010). weak II 0.05; 95% CI= 0.88 0.78; 0.910). In addition, III (SMD=0.16; CI95%=0.46 0.79; p=0.610).
